The WG survey seeks to fill a void by providing information on compensation and benefit benchmarks for the industry’s professional jobs. This year’s compensation and benefits survey is based on information from more than 50 fresh produce businesses in California and Arizona.

Western Growers Completes Salary & Benefit Survey for Fresh Produce Industry

IRVINE, Calif. (April 20, 2011)—Building on the success of last year’s first-ever professional salary and benefit survey for the fresh produce industry, Western Growers today announces the completion of a new and expanded survey. The Western Growers 2011 Professional Salary & Benefit Survey will supply executives and human resource professionals with compensation information needed to make informed decisions about hiring and retaining executive-level, sales, office, logistics, field supervision and food safety employees within their organizations. All of the more than 50 participating companies have operations within California and/or Arizona.

In January, 2011, Western Growers will conduct the “new and improved” 2011 Wage and Benefit Survey. Participation in this project will provide members with many tools and information to help them make educated decisions for hiring and retaining executive-level, sales, office, logistics and food safety employees. Members who participate will also have the opportunity to participate in a free workshop/webinar this January to help with writing lawful and practical job descriptions.

In order to provide members with verifiable data to make educated decisions for hiring and retaining executive-level, sales, office, logistics and food safety employees, Western Growers is encouraging all regular members to participate in the Compensation & Benefits Survey.

We know there is very little competitive compensation, for professional-level positions, data available in the specialty crop industry, and we plan to change that. Western Growers will benchmark regular member-company compensation and benefit information.
